This really sucks to hear. I hope you get better as quickly and painlessly as possible. I also live on the NW side near your apt so if you need anything, let me know.

Was anyone riding with him last night that knows any details on how this occurred? , I'm sure HE'D like to know if he doesn't remember,

Appropriate Gifts for Hospital

No Balloons in ICU. Or maybe that's just the NICU?
No flowers in ICU.
FOOD is expensive, so money or restraunt gift cards for family sitting there day and night. (Jason's Deli is a good choice)
Money or GC for Parking - $10 bucks a pop ($50 for a 7 day pass last year) (Even for Motorcycles, so I suggest CAGING to the hospital with friends.)

Someone said he had no insurance? Motorcycle or Health Insurance? IF his bike was on payments, his motorcycle policy will pick up some of the bill. Indigent fund may pick up the rest IF he didn't earn too much per year.

But while in the hospital it depends on if he's awake. Did he have a lap top? He's gonna be bored to tears in about a week flat. DVD's - Portable DVD player - Books - Magazines - Video Games, handheld and stay at home units. (Didn't someone say he played Halo? Get his player and game from his house and take it to the hospital - they have tv's in every room)

We spent 20 days in the hospital right next door to Ben Taub last year... No Fun - Visitors EVERY DAY - EVERY TIME - Helped.

Anyone going to set up a "family fund?" His parents had to fly in and will need a close place to stay for a little while. I don't know their financial situation, but we can all pitch in for a friend.

PS - Still going tomorrow at 10am. Will Meet at the Starbucks on 59 /1960

Driving a RED, Toyota TACOMA - Room for 3 to ride with us. Ride your bikes if you like, but parking is OUTRAGEOUS! Give that $10 parking fee to his family instead!

PM or just show up. In the Parking Lot by 8:45AM - LEAVING EXACTLY AT 9AM - VISITING HOURS ARE STRICT. Usually only 2 allowed in the room at a time - Better to let his family see him if they've been waiting - They can tell him about all his friends who showed up until he's moved to a room. Please remember NO DRAMA in the hospital. Save it for the boards or Hooters. Use common sense and respect people.

Just went to go see McKee, I had not known him before, but figured my quick recovery might be some encouragement to him (it did seem to be)

He is hurt pretty bad, and i am sure that the boredom will set in soon, but he is receptive to and does appreciate any visitors.

Best of luck to him in his road to recovery!
