I know you can't use a cell phone in ICU due to monitoring equipment. However, a lot of ICU's do have a cordless phone at the nurses station that all the rooms share for just such reasons. When my mom was in ICU, we were able to give out of state family the nurses cordless number and they would bring the phone to her. Just a suggestion. If not, well, he'll be in another room soon! Love is patient for sure. I have a close friend that works for the State of Texas and she is EXTREMELY resourceful, so let us know if there is something he needs but is unable to get for his recovery!

As of right now I have changed my flight home and will try to get everything ready for him when he does get out of the hospital. As deBuck said We are waiting to hear from the doctors whether or not Scott will have surgery. We should know sometime tomorrow. He is moving his head more than before but is not allowed to move anything else to keep his back straight. The doctor said that this type of fracture is uncommon so that is why they are debating on the surgery. As I find out more I will update everyone.
Again, I can't thank all of you enough for caring about my son.
Hugs,
Linda
hi linda, my name is Lisa and scott and i have a special relationship, he gives me a hard time and i give it right back, he has refered to me as his "Texas Momma". I wanted to let you know that I am a cna and if he needs help once he gets home i would be happy to help anyway i can. But you can tell Scott i said no sponge baths. hahahahahaha. I have him and his family and girlfriend in my prayers. I pray for a speedy recovery and all of his abilities to be restored quickly. Let me know if i can do anything to help.

I wish him a speedy recovery, glad his testosterone didnt get himself or someone else killed.
Someone please stop the metric invincible mindset insanity
i donno if this is just me but this comment came across as a little mean...... none of this is true when he rides he never lets his testosterone in the way he does wat he can handle and uses his brain when hes on his bike. i know this because ive been with him on the back of his bike and even when im not i know scott well enough to know that he is all fully focused on his safty of riding and not on trying to look cool or impress anyone. so i ask please leave your comments like this out of this thread do it somewhere else. i as well as his parents would not like to read posts like this one.

sorry if im comming off rude or nething but u know i am his girlfriend and right now i can only take so much and people dissing my boyfriend does not help the fact and honestly im taking this pretty calmy right now usually i would be to the point of flipping out but im not. so just respect what i have said respect scott his family and me do not say negative things about scott in here.

thanks.

Linda, please don't be shy to ask for anything. We will all try to help as good as we can. Please keep us updated and let us know about the possible surgery and when he gets to a room and has a phone number to call him at.

I know that you want to enjoy all ICU time you can get with him but I hope it is okay when folks come to visit. I was thinking about coming back over tonight.

No need to beat the subject of how it happened.

I am sure Scott has more than enough time to think about it while he is in his bed not able to move and with nothing else to look at than the ceiling.

If he can share and has other people learn from his accident, I am sure he will post up; otherwise, there is really no need to even talk about it. It happened and it can't be reversed, let's move on. We should wish him well and that he recovers.

In the meantime, let's all just ride and drive really careful. I witnessed a very bad accident Saturday night at West Rd and 290, between 2 cars and I am not sure if the driver/passenger of the one vehicle, sitting on its side pinned against the lightpole by the SUV, made it. What we can learn from that? Look twice before making a right on red. The folks plowing into the car that turned in front of them? Folks injured are punished enough and will have a hard time going back out there in traffic as it is. That includes Scott. So, let's drop it. Please.

The "perfect people/riders/decision-makers" always have to inject their $.02 into these injury and RIP threads with their "lectures" and drama.

Go start your own thread for it.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

real world, its a tragedy it happened, real world, hes lucky hes not in a RIP thread, real world, we dont need to make him out a hero, he is lucky beyond description in so many ways, lets leave it at that.
If you read all the threads his bike never hit the car jkarse..... I've read so many of your threads and thats usually what you have to say. You weren't there I and my friends were so we don't need yalls stupid imput. Accidents happen. I can definently say he was in the back of the groups. This post goes for any of you richous people that don't know the facts and want to teach us lessons. PAT too you noob.
