You're right I would be slow because I've NEVER been on the track before. I'm sure it's completely different.

I'm sure you could beat him, right?

Why don't YOU go to the track day with him and you ride it as well. See who gets the better times and by how much.

There are a lot of fast guys on this forum in their mid 30's and early 40's. Come to the track and see all these bald headed, grey hair, half bald, guys fly around the track then you will have different perspective/respect.

He's OBVIOUSLY a better rider than other folks who go to the track that happened to have crashed. I mean afterall, he's been TEN times without crashing. I'd guess you think it's all b/c you know how to ride better than others.

While that may be true, that also insinuates that others who HAVE crashed DON'T know how to ride. That isn't always true. Many people just push their bike harder than you do obviously and sometimes get bit (by themselves, by others, etc).

If I was selling my bike it would be yours. Then I could upgrade! But alas I am not selling it because then I would not be able to afford the other things on my list of toys. I will go with you and check some out though.

Do what you want to Seth. I'm always at the back with you....so not everyone leaves you. Well execpt the time I led us out to CRR.

Racer X.. I would try what you mentioned now that I think about it. I'm sure I won't lose by much.

I would race it if I knew what to do. I probably could have enough money for full gear and a track day at least by the end of this month. I've been saving my money for more gear and such too. dude, just because we don't know you personally, doesn't mean we wouldn't be glad to help you. when you're ready for a trackday, or have any questions about doing one, i'd be glad to help. you can PM me or even give me a call 281-745-6645. i'm not sure about anyone else, but i TRUELY believe trackdays have saved my life. i would probably be road kill somewhere if it weren't for my uncle getting me into trackdays.

from what you're saying, about foot positions, you really aren't riding you're bike correctly. i'd be more than willing to show you a few things if you're ever in my neck of the woods. the bike doesn't need to be rolling either, i can put your bike up on a stand and show you about positioning.

really, get with someone that is willing to help you, if you have no luck in finding that person, come see me. good luck to you on your new bike though, i'm sure you are excited on your future bike. i'm sure you will be happy upgrading, as you have made some pretty smart choices on starting out on a 250 and taking MSF.

I am really curious to see you ride at the track. Just wondering how would a MSF instructor ride at the track. I can pretty much understand a racer's point of view, faster lap times. What does the MSF instructor think when he is at the track? Let's say TWS (Texas World Speedway). On a straight bank, do you open it up? What about body position? When I took MSF advance, no one told me about getting off the bike. It's all about slow speed control.

Did you not see my analogy of Rossi vs. Racer X? But then, I've seen Rossi crash at the track a few times. Hmmm...
