they ride sweet too...i rode one with diablo corsa takeoffs, and it was great. It handled really well (especially with those tires) and was very very comfortable with its more upright position. It was not lacking in power what so ever.

steve the service manager at stubbs sw rides the used on stubbs owns and he loves the ish out of it!i think its a sweet bike too.

the lack of windscreen and fairings make it less than ideal for highway squidlyness, i cant imagine being comfortable while trying to top the bike out. thats not what its for.

its perk is cutting through traffic like buttah! theres more uses for power than doing 100+. if i owned one, i would probably put a sprocket kit on it, just for added sickness in the 0-60. but im not mentally well either...

I have one.

I have one and I just love it. I really think with a few mods it is the best of all worlds or maybe I should say bikes.

Yeah, we received word that Honda will be introducing a new 919 derived from the CBR1000RR. A few of my buddies on a 919 forum have been invited to meet up with American Honda to check it out and provide their input on what needs to be done to make this bike compete with other nakeds in the US Market. I want to go too, but it's in California. They're still trying to figure out what formula will work, while still maintaining the practicality of the current 919 (if at all). The 919 (Hornet 900) is one of the more popular bikes abroad, but here in the US it's sales sucked, but like I said, Honda did absolutely nothing to promote it to the US market. Most kids want the fastest bikes with the latest technology here in the States, and it's all about which ones dominate the AMA in any given year. In Europe, motorcycling is more accepted and a recognized means of transportation, not like here, where Cagers hate us. Bikes like the 919 do well over there.

He can get a used one in black for about half the price of new. A used '02 to '05 may go anywere from $4.2k to $5.2k, and like I said, the bike is solid quality, and the engine will go on forever. Get an '04 or later, though, since they had the upgraded suspension.

Tell him Congrats! Let the mods begin. He should check out www.wristtwisters.com It's another bike forum on the national level, open to all bikes, but it seems to attract alot of 919ers. It was on that Forum that XRCajun told me about MotoHouston, and thus I'm here. He can get alot of info about the 919 on that forum, so he should check it out, and introduce himself.

Cool, another 919er on MH.
