EBAY question

I have never used ebay for anything in my life, but the time has come because I crashed and now need a new radiator/fan assembly for my bike. Not so much the radiator, but the fan and all auctions I see are for the combo of the fan/radiator. Anyhow, I am the high bidder (currently) on an auction and I have not met the reserve with my bid (however I did enter a maximum bid)....how do I know if the "maximum" bid meets the reserve? Will it tell me? Do I have to wait?

One more question,
the auction ends in 2 hours (it has a buy it now price of $70.00)....as I was cruising ebay I noticed the same seller selling the same item and it does not have a buy it now price and it doesn't end (the auction) for more than 3 days? What to do?
Thanks guys

Someone will have to bid until your maximum bid is reached or surpassed. Ebay will bid automatically for you until your maximum bid is reached. If someone enters a bid larger than your max, they'll email you to let you know someone has outbid you. Yes, you have to wait. What's really going to bake you is the snipers that wait until the last seconds of the auction to outbid you.

The other answer is that he likely has two of the same item for sale. Usually, the "Buy it Now" goes away after the first bid is placed. If someone doesn't take advantage of the "Buy it Now" and places a bid instead, the option of buying it instantly is gone.

The good news is that the other item he has for sale will be there in case you lose this auction.

dude I think you might be mistaking it with another option. A "buy it now" auction will always have the "buy it now" option regardless of how many bids have been placed.

That sounds like a good price for both units, if U need it then buy it now for 70, not bad at all, some of these radiators are really expensive, just buy the dam thing allready, why take a chance on loosing it for that price, the reserve might be 69, cheap enuf U will still have money left over from the mexican joint party cheap consider it a gift from us

If you reached the reserve in your max bid, the bid increment would have jumped to that reserve price.

this is possible. the buy it now usually goes away upon reserve price being met, first bid, or some auctions or strictly buy it now. i typically play the sniper roll anyhow, it's part of the game!

be careful of shipping...some dicks will have a $50 shipping fee.

Only if it's a strictly "buy it now" auction. If it's a regular auction with a "BIN" option, then the "BIN" goes away.

At least that's the way it was for the last several auctions I placed... it's been a year or so since I had one.

welcome man... good luck on the bidding!

But yeah as Hotnanas said... pay attention to the shipping. You might find something real cheap(At least it seems that way) but they'll rip you a new one on the shipping. Always pay attention to the shipping when doing your "total cost" calculations.

shipping was 21.75 UPS Ground...it's probably cheaper than that for the seller, but whatever....the set-up new OEM replacement is just under $500, I'll settle for 60 bucks + 22 in shipping costs....

wow I guess they've changed it... I used to place things for sale as an auction, and I'd also place a "BIN" on it and the "BIN" would remain regardless.
So eventually as the bid price started going up someone would get smart and just use the "BIN" option.

Good job on the win, sounds like a good deal! You can have that happen if you're diligent and watch Ebay well, I have had good success in the past with parts.

so, Do you think I can modify 99 sharkskinz plastics to fit my bike bodywork master? I see a whole set of "rashed" plastics (rated 8 of 10) for under 200 bucks.

Does it come with an inspection period so you can verify it doesn't leak?
