OHR CMRA WEEKEND > MH

....i dont know where to start right now. i was there since firday and rode a 1/2 day friday and the track was slippery as could be. saturday i corner worked all day for the mini endurance.

MH's own HouseofPain and his crew were looking awesome till they got a flat and had to call it a day at about hour 2.

Now the day for everyone, I got off to a really bad start. I was taking it easy in the second pratcice of the AM and went through 3 and the rear end got a little loose coming out so next time around i slowed up a little bit and was on a slightly diffrent line and highsided to coming out of 3. Tony was CW that corner too, and had to red flag it due to my bike being in the middle of the track.

My bike was not too bad but done for the day, and my knee is jacked up i can barely walk.

It gets better, first race Larry M. high sided to the moon in turn two and was completely out for the first 5 minutes ,lifeless. So after a while they call care flight for larry but ended up taking him by ambulance to Tyler. Last i heard he ended up with a broken pinkey and prolly a concussion from my guess.

Other then that it was nice seeing all you fellow houston people out there . I will never go to OHR again for many reasons i will not mention. CSS here i come next year. This was the last straw for me.

! I didn't know you were out there! I was cornerworking sat in turn 6, and raced today in race 3 and 7-#336. My first time ever at that track. Finally completed all my prov nov stuff! Yeah, that sux about Larry Meyers. Hope he's ok. Anyway, everyone that i talked to before and after this weekend said that oak hill sucks. I actually enjoyed the out of the track. I can see how it can be a dangerous track, but it was a very fun track. I think i like it better than TWS (Texas World Speedway), although i had no problem with grip! See ya around

Buck, The priller crashed really good. there is a few gouges in the plastic (typical of OHR) and the bars looked bent. Im not sure on the status of the other riders. Hope all is well with them. Im pretty sure my knee is worse then i thouht. lots of pain pills are numbing the pain and its still hurting. im gonna go to the DR tomorrow just to make sure. Buck ill see you next weekend at MSR, ill be stopping by and hangin out.

I didn't have any traction problems Friday, there were a bunch of fast guys with excellent pace on Friday too.

Sorry about the get-off, I can relate...

Gotta have the right line there, it'll bite you if you don't.

That track still ranks up there as one of my favorites, you won't find tracks built like that any more with the characteristics it has. It would be extremely fortunate if a bunch of money could be poured in to that track to make it safer with run-off areas and such, but I think that possibly, the track will be gone rather than saved.

i agree its a great layout, if they made it 20 ft wider and added better run off nad peraved it i would be there everyday. its not worth the added danger to already a dangerous sport.

There are those that love it, those that hate it, those that love to hate it!

I love it, I wish improvements could be made, but I know it won't happen. Those miners get closer and closer every time I go up there it seems.

With the cost of doing all the things you mentioned, you could build a whole new track, and nobody has that kind of money around that area, and the family would never sell anyway.

Too bad. One day, we'll be looking back and thinking, "remember Oak Hill"?

i know i was right around 2 seconds off my normal pace, but that wasnt because of traction, i guess i juust felt goofy.
