Motorcyclist dies in northeast Houston accident

Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle

A man was killed this morning after he lost control of his speeding Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was thrown under the wheels of a truck in northeast Houston, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw the motocyclist speed up behind a trailer truck that was changing lanes in the 9300 block of Wallisville about 7:30 a.m., said Sgt. G.T. Hall of the Houston Police Department.

The motorcyclist drove onto the sidewalk to avoid hitting the truck, but he lost control and was thrown under the truck's rear wheels, Hall said.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. His identity has not been released.
