Try a different bike shop or locksmiths, some dealers can cut by vin # but will have to show proof of ownership, U dont have a spare, that sux, dont cost chit to get a copy, but if U have to get 1 made prolly not cheap

You can't get bike keys cut off the vin. You will need to take off the ignition cyl and take it in to a locksmith with a blank key (suzuki keys are like $10 each at the dealer and I would advise you to buy two). They will stick the blank key into the cylinder and they can tell by how far it sticks the pins up how to cut the key. they will usually charge about $50-60 for this service. You will need the "security torx" style bit with a hole in the center to remove the ignition cyl but other than that its surprisingly easy.

I had to do this a while ago I bought a salvage title bike with no keys.

oh and the gas tank doesn't use all the pins only like the first few, and the helmet lock too.. so don't even bother removing them, you gotta use the ignition cylinder.

oh and you got a real good deal @ 25, IMO... I paid $60 but mine was complicated (dont ask).
