I think alot of people here would be surprised how fast the "slower" bikes can go. The rider makes quite a bit difference not the bike.

That's because they don't realize that on most tracks the straights are too short to really give a big bore the speed advantage.

Even in the Pro classes, the Superbikes are not much quicker than the 600 SS class.

Aren't Cresson/TWS (Texas World Speedway)/NPR lap records held by Ty Howard on 600's?

ding ding ding. hence the guy saying it would be a good track day bike if it was a 500............that's why alot of people on 1000's see people on 600s and 500 flying past them on the track. In most instances the rider makes all the diffrence.

AFIK his new record at TWS (Texas World Speedway) was on a GSXR 750 or 1K...

You should have seen those times that the 125 2 smokers were running when the USGPRU came through TWS (Texas World Speedway) a year and a half ago... It's all about the corner speed...

Those kids would come down from turn 9 into the horeshoe and never let off the gas...

I give big kuddos to Kawasaki for doing something like this. Maybe it will help curb the newbies from getting a 600rr or 1000 for a starter bike. This could possibly save quite a few lives.
