Good roads to ride

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the Houston area (lived here less than 1 yr.) and I'm looking for places to ride. I live down on the SW side (richmond/katy area) and don't usually get more than just a couple of hours to ride at a time except on the weekend, and just wanted to know if you all knew of any good roads down on this part of town.

Saturdays I'm up for travelling a little farther, so let me know about stuff a little farther out too

... oh yeah, not looking to get a "track-like" experience, just looking for fun roads that aren't too boring

if you just want to cruise....the sam houston national forest is a nice cruise. make sure your tags are up to date and all paperwork. lots of bikes out there on weekends, and they dont like people who speed.

fm149 and fm105 is where it starts, then goes up to fm3090

well since u are on the sw side of town the forrest is on the opposite side and u will not be able to enjoy in a couple hours.
google maps and look for hwy 36 in your area, go north to sealy. from sealy go west on 1094 to 109 at new ulm left.
109 to 1291. stop sign. straight. from there into fayettville is a blast. just go back the way u just came. best roads around.
can give u a route from your area down thru freeport to surfside if u want.
later
