i usually wear long sleeves, pants, and try to not show my hands because of people's prejudice when it comes to tattoos (depending the situation/location)

i've accepted long ago the fact that people judge books by their covers.

+1......I think everyone runs into that sooner or later, usually sooner :/:

I almost got fired from a job because they thought I'd gotten a tat done at work, I had to show them a receipt.

Thats rediculus, I would tell them to **** off. not just the appartment issue but the issue where your boss asked to show a receipt.

I have tats on my arms and hands and never get , of course you can only see them with a black light! I get to have my cake and eat it too.

Tis cold comfort, but it's all they have. They wouldn't know what to do once they got the damned book open and had to think.

I don't have any tatoos, but I have dealt with that issued based on my nose ring and 11 piercing in my ears. It sucks, but it is the world we live in.

I do not have any tattoos and I do not plan on getting any ever.

Now that is said.........

Tattooing is a personal choice. There is a stigma in some circles in society that goes along with it. It's a prejudice. Unlike racism, this is a stigma that is self imposed by an individual. I would imagine that someone would be aware of this before getting a full body tattoo.

He should have worn a long sleeve shirt.

The couple should sue the apartment complex. If they win they will have created a legal precedent and the issue would be on it's way to becoming case law.

Upper arms...

Being in the woodlands I get stares.... two on outsides are christian decent; inner right arm a memorial to surgeries and chronic probs I have.

Walking in market street one day with helmet at hand, cut-offs and some white collar speaking his mind to his family behind me when(beyond my comprehension) four or five of the kids from my church ministry come running up and hugging my legs from the center of the square shouting 'bro matt' and then the parents come, who call me pastor matt...

Needlesstosay the man couldn't make eye contact with me, and to rub in my point I didn't even acknowledge him and his family; I had more important youngens around me to play with...

Unfortunetly, Gigolo Jason is right.... You may miss a good person over outward prejudices... (not to say I don't have a bad streak...)

Ummm... I think that's the whole point. They can't live there because of the property's rules, and understandably... they don't like it.

i'm not sure about everyone else, but i was fully aware of the prejudice that i would receive from having my exposed body parts tattooed.

doesn't bother me none though, kinda shows people's true colors if you know what i mean. why would i want to befriend someone that passes judgements on me for how i appear, and not who i am?

unlike them, i'm not prejudice, i say em all.
