MSRH 10/13 BACKWARDS!!

Heads up for those on the list for MSRH 10/13, we will be running the track CLOCKWISE or backwards for the directionally challenged. Spoke with Al and it's a go for clockwise dependant on some curbing end caps and a few other minor things that should be done by then. With racing coming to MSRH we are not sure which direction the races will be so we're going to be prepared for either. Larry and I have both done it clockwise and it's a completely different track for sure. The down hill off camber entry to the keyhole should be a fun one for most. As well the entry to Diamond's Edge complex is a LOT faster and the turn will really close up on you, making for some great braking battles. Bring out those take offs, we'll be using the other side of the tire this week....................

Wait list is short at this time, usually the first five on the wait list get in and it's at 3 now.

Buck, I'm assuming whatever new part of the track that was turn 1 (CCW) takes that wall out of play going CW? Does that even makle sense? :/:

I would say keep the turn numbers the same for simplicity sake.

I say with the track running CW, T1 would pose the problem with the wall running clockwise as opposed to T17. Do I have that right?

I think with the new track layout at turn 1 CCW is no threat to the wall and I think that is the solution for racing and safety issues.

I think turn 1 ccw has never been a problem for the wall. I think running CW turn 1 or 17 whatever you want to call it it could be a problem. I think running CW after the carosel speed the wall could be an issue.

that's what I was thinking....maybe not as drastic as CCW T17, but the threat is still there a little (personally CCW T17 doesn't bother me, I just don't haul through there, but I did get close to the camera one time). I would also think you will carry more speed into T1 CW than you would T17 CCW.

Someone had told me that they have done some changes to T1 CCW, and it is more like a chicane.

Exactly. I don't know would like to see some more pics with the changes to see what the chicane would look like.

That's the idea, reduces the angle quite a bit. We want to see how it's going to flow with the new T1 layout. My personal feeling is T17 with 3-4 sections of airfence would be the ticket to a great racing venue, but this is the latest solution to be tested. Should be fun as most everyone will be on the same level. Finding new lines, braking markers, and passing opportunities is always fun, think of it as a blank canvas to make your own.
