finding out dealer cost

is there a way to find out dealer cost on a new bike? or would you have to know someone who works at the dealer to look it up?
i just need a price as a starting point to use as leverage when i am financially ready to buy another bike(crf150r)

go to crf150 forums and see what others are paying, you can expect to pay a little more here since we ride all year long. Other states will get good deals when the snow comes.

You said that you get a better deal on bikes out of state when it snows, but when you bring it back to tx, don't you have to pay tx state tax on it?

Yeah, and? If you buy here you pay tax too. I was not saying to go buy somewhere else, mearly that we pay more than some other states where buyers can get good deals in the winter.

I know you pay tax too, but I just moved here from Colorado, and when you purchase a car out of state, but are a resident of Colorado they charge you extra tax on top of what they would charge cause you bought out of state. It is kind of like a fee, but not called that. That was what I was asking about. Cause you can get some cheap bikes in the winter in Colorado. I am looking to buy a bike here soon, and I might buy in Colorado if TX doesn't "fee" you for buying outta state.

Dealer cost isn't always dealer cost either. There are dealer holdback and incentives that get hidden from you. Unless you are in the game, you'll never see it. There are a few websites out there that can show you some of that.

No fee in Texas, just they tell you what taxes you pay based on vin # and miles - doesnt matter what you payed for it.
