TWS (Texas World Speedway) selling?

Anybody else hear about Texas World Speedway selling? I'm okay with it, but are they gonna convert it into something else? Just moved here from Colorado in February and I know they did the same thing to Pikes Peak which was a great track.

It's been up for sale for some time now. Don't know if they have found any potential buyers yet. I know some of the track day orgs have events scheduled through next year though.

Not long ago TWS (Texas World Speedway) was out in the boonies but now the city of College Station has grown to be just over the hill.
Rumors have circulated for a while that the land is worth more than what the track generates. It could just be a matter of time before a developer swoopes in and turns it into an apartment complex or Master Planned neighborhood.

While this seems like the most likely scenario, apparently, nobody has actually stepped up to do this. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but my assumption is that it will cost too much in demolition, and I know there is speculation that there is "dirty" land north of the track that would have to be remediated.

I just wish some motorcycle enthusiast that has too much money and a passion for spending it will come in and buy the place to renovate, then rent out for a nominal fee!

With the proper people working together and soliciting venture capitalists I think TWS (Texas World Speedway) could be secured by the racing community and developed into something new and exciting.
