R1 insurance

So I called my agent today about possibly switching my r6 out for an 2008 r1. I gave them the info on a 2007 r1 since the 08 is not out yet. I was quoted about 50.00 a month for a premium. This was 2500.00 in pip, comp/coll, and property dmg covg. Does this sound low to anyone other than me? Think right now I'm paying about 65.00 per month.

I just ran a quote for a R1, and that sounds almost right to me, depending on the limits of the coverages. Get it in writing, that will tell u what's really up!

THAT's WHAT'S WRONG, she's quoted the Cost price New lower than what it should be based on 9k.

A brand new R1 isn't gonna cost less than $12k. With Liablity at 25/50/25, pip, Fire Theft and wind, and $500 collision deductible, in harris county and no msf, should be around $84.83.

If u are in another county or have had the msf it will be a little cheaper!

yeah I'm in montgomery county and I do have the msf cert. I probably wouldn't buy a 08 from the dealer. I would wait a bit and try to pick one up used. That is if the bike gets a good review.

Yamaha-motors.com says MSRP will be $11,700 for the '08 R1.

So for it insured at $11k, in mont county, MSF taken, Liab, pip, comp, coll should run about $72/mth on avg.
