well we ended up at the 1/4 mile in sealy.

Best run of the night (straight off the street w/o strapping the front)

2.19 60' YUCK
7.52 1/8th @103
11.34 1/4 @ 127

Keep in mind that I did not set my bike up at all. I was fighting the front end down till about 1/2 track & was my first time at the strip on this machine. Coulda ran a few more but I figured with all the showboat wheelies that I should call it a night just in case the next one didnt sit down so easy

too slow mph.next time try not letting off the throttle so much and using either the clutch or the rear brake (prefered) to keep the whoolies down.

Its a lot harder then it looks....especially on a tall, short bike like a 954.....a strap will make a big difference and a lot of practice... When I first started racing, I had a ZX11 and I could not get that bike to break 11.0s to save my life for the first 6 months....I eventually got it running 10.60s@134 at stock height and length, no strap....just got used to getting WOT ASAP and short shifting it in 1st. Keep at it, you will get it in the mid 10s pretty easy....when I said 10.20s, thats with an experienced rider.

Its an old Ghetto kit from Motorhead circa 2004. RCC turbos actually makes the kit for Dennis and he sold them...Now RCC has a new Stg 1 kit and its a lot more efficient. Give Richard a call and he will hook you up....No doubt the best entry level, stg 1 kits out there...

If you want to spend a little more money up front, get the Stg 2 kit with secondaries and piggyback controller...It will save you a lot of hassle and tuning issues down the road, its about $6k though.. Will make about 400hp.

Yea I,m a poser thats funny, been running the texas shootout on that busa for 7 years, I,m old and slow prolly have 1500-2000 1/4 mile passes on that bike, but it does take awhile to get good at launching these things. races are won on the starting line every day I finally after years got my 60 fts into the 1.20- 1.30 that hard, amazing to think there are guys doing 9s on stock 600s keep at it u will get better, I,m still learning

Oh dont even ask, CD and Donna sold out to some woman, and I think she has fuct it up royally, everyone hates it, I hear last event they took all the entry fees and let everyone make 1 pass and then called a 2nd riders meeting and announced there would be NO PAYOUTS they were just gonna keep the money, I heard it was purdy ugly after that, several old timers including myself will never go back, as long as she runs it, thats just stealing, some of these guys make their living doing this chit, highest entry fee in racing as well, I think they just fuct themselfs

You are 60' ing 1.20s on a 66-68" busa no bars? Slider? You are DEFINETLY a rider....

Yeah the Tx Shootout has been fukkd since CD sold it....I quit racing them in 02-03....I got bored with ET racing and all of the other heads up classes are WAAAAAAYYY to competitive and $$$..... If you aren't riding a $50k bike, you have no chance in 60", SBS etc...... I wanted them to come up with a stock SWINGARM class.....not stock wb...... that would help level out the field some but you still would have to go 8.20s to be competitive...

Let me know next time you guys go. It's been a few years since I hit the strip. Last time I was running an 02 ZX9 in the mid 10's. I'm on a ZX12 now and want to see what I can run.

Couple years ago I hopped on a completely stock 05 ZX12(maybe it was an 04 but this was in 05), it only had 250 miles on it and still had paper tags, never running a 12 before I went a 10.40@137 my first pass.....By my 3rd pass I was 10.32@138..... They are a little harder to launch then a busa because they have much less bottom end torque and I wasn't about to burn up clutches in a guy's brand new bike......

I will tell you that a ZX12 with a pipe, custom map, lowered with -1 up front will go 9.60s no problem....with good mph also, usually around 148-149....those bikes were faster then they got credit for.....Just not as good as a busa for heavy modding(ie. engine mods/turbos etc) and they are hard to work on.

That's pretty much the set up I'm running right now. Previous owner set it up nice. I've road been on a few 12's but only ever made one run on the strip with one. For my first time back out I'd be happy with just low 10's since it's been so long. This is how the bike is currently set up:

Full Akra SS with Carbon can
Galfer Braided Lines front and rear
Kleen Air removed, crankcase mod
PCIII USB
Quick Shifter
Double bubble Dark Smoke Puig Screen
Muzzy fan
K&N Filters
Muzzy clutch Kit with 3 Muzzy springs and 3 Brocks springs
adjustable lowering links (lowered 1 1/2" in the front and 2" on the rear)
front strap
MPS Kill Switch
Scotts Steering Damper
Pazzo Levers short ones
Bear Velocity Stacks (purple,short)
Shinko 005 with less than 200 miles on it

You have that 12 setup really well...The timing advancer works well on the 12Rs also....I don't think its a traditional type advancer though....its something else they used on them to advance the timing that goes on the ignition trigger. As long as its mapped right, your bike is making around 170-175hp.... Thats enough for 9.30s-.50s.. When my busa was making 175hp NA, I was going 9.30s@150 stock wheelbase with 1.55 60's, 4.05 330's.

12s also like a lot of gear, I would go -1 up front and try it....if its not wheelying too bad, go up 1 or 2 in the rear...It will be easier on clutches.

Let us know how you do...I bet you go 9.80s by the 3rd pass. After a few track trips and you get it dialed in....drain the pump gas, dump in some Nuetec or U4 and it will knock off another tenth and gain 1-2 mph. Don't leave that in the tank though...after you're done racing, drain it back out...its corrosive as .

You think faster or slower? I mean thats a 9.40-9.50 bike sitting there....I am just pulling 3-4 tenths off the top for general principles....
