Anyone every been to one of these to pick up spare or replacement parts?

Linky to Yards

Are they worth a shot? (I'll have to travel a few hours to any of them so just wanted to get some opinions before I do)

Thanks

I don't know what's in College Station, but if you come in to Houston, I would go see Sam Romeo at Sam's Cycle Salvage in the Heights. "Romeo36" is his son here on the bbs.

There is another yard in Pasadena, but I have had luck there only rarely. Union Cycle Salvage on the south side of Houston is about the same because they deal mostly in older bikes.

Try PM'ing "Patrick" on here, he may have or be able to help you locate parts for your F4i.

there are a bunch in houston, I've called them before but they are usually vague and when they know they have what I need they charge too much. ebay FTW.

It pays to visit these places in person. Usually, their warehouses and inventory is too vast for them to say "yeah, we have that". Sometimes they do though. Sam usually knows exactly what he has or will call you back with an answer.

Sometimes you get lucky with Ebay, sometimes you don't. You'll find that Sam's prices aren't too much off the "good" deals on Ebay.

When I bought my first bike (7 years ago) I was really impressed with Sam's. While I didn't end up buying from him, he had good stuff and was willing to work deals.

The Bate's in Garland is closed. I work next to them. They are in internet and phone orders only. Have to called the Carrolton Bate's to get the phone #.

Pasadena has a lot of parts, but like I and Bubba said, they have more of the older bikes there.

Sam is open today until noon I think.

Big props go to Houston Cycle Salvage in Pasadena. they rock!

I had been looking for a particular part for weeks on ebay, and the folks in Pasadena hooked me right up, and at a great price.
