body shop

The insurance company told me to get an estimate from a body shop... so i wonder if anyone has a body shop or if mechanic shops can issue an estimate...

you can prolly price out the parts yourself and then give the insurance co. the cost of repair parts..

Re: body shop

i would say go to the dealer. They'll give you a real high estimate then tell the insurance you want a check and get it fixed at a cheaper place such as grand prix or something. this way you get your bike fixed and some extra money!

Re: body shop

or get the check fix it yourself and pocket the money anyway... ebay is cheap as , even for new parts,, may even find something better and different than what you have now,,

you can put race plastics on it for about $400, so that you can do trackdays with us!!!!

Re: body shop

I've done this for year been an adj for GEICO now a bodyshop manager....Take to what ever dealer that makes ur bike and they will write an appraisal for the damages... most ins adj. don't write appraisals on bikes they r clueless. they will take a shop appraisal...u win in the end u can then show them the title and they will issue u the check then pull it out of the shop its in

Re: body shop

You definitely wanna take it to a place where they will give you a high appraisal for it! Usually your dealers will be highest cuz they'll tell u u need new ones, unless someone can hook u up Then you will definitely have some $$$ for repairs and thensome for some extra goodies

And what's the big deal, fixing fairings is soooo easy! and once painted you CANNOT tell the bike has ever been banged up. Ive seen this w/my own two eyes! I wouldnt get new ones unless absolutely neccessary.
