Exclamation WHAT'S YOUR BEST SICK EXCUSE???

As an employer, I get some rediculous excuses, and thoughth I'd share a good one that I got this morning.

Employee calls in and says he was working on his car last night, and got oil on his face and in his mouth, so he'll need a half day off to get it cleaned up!

The very best one though was a few winters ago when employee says he can't make it to work because his dentist says it's too cold for his teeth

Share yours.................

I called in once when my cat died (I still miss him ), but I worked as a public educator for animal control, so everyone got it since they were a bunch of animal lovers too. I actually did sob all night long though. . .twas terrible.

The most airtight excuse for a random sick day seems to be having the runs. No one's gonna want proof. It affects you for a day, comes on suddenly, doesn't need a doctor's note, and if it's bad enough it's impossible to be productive at work.

Haha. There was a guy at my previous job that tried that. The manager told him "We have restrooms here, you'll be fine. See you when you get here".

guys have used that one on me several times. I believe one guy used the term "squirting"

Even had one employee that had teh same grandmother die about 4 times.

Another employee once used the excuse after having the day off due to a holiday that someone told him we always get the day after a holiday off.

"explosive" or "galloping" diarrhea is a pretty good one.

If you're ballsy enough to admit that you're having "explosive" diarrhea then you deserve the day off.

I have been at work and from the time I showed up till the time I left, faked a stomach virus (ie. fake trip to the can, the look of I could explode any second and the whole shabang) so I could go surfing, best day of surf ever hurricane Ivan a couple of years back, I was a cashier for tha HEB at the time. Largest recorded wave of the day was 22 ft. Totally worth it, got in trouble the next day when I had major sunburns all over..... Busted
