It's a good idea, I don't see the point of having decals on the bike doing marketing for free when you won't even get a dicount or some other kind of reward.
I say we all remove the manufacturers decals from our bikes and start charging honda, yamaha, kawasaki, ducati, etc. to have those eyesores on our machines.

I think so too, and not just for my bank acct. I mean people get sponsors all the time when they race.
A track day is the same sorta thing, it would get the name and info out in front of an interested group of fellow enthusiasts.
I can pass out stickers, hats whatever, talk up the sponsor and explain how they can be a good place to shop or get their bike serviced.
PM me and lets talk about how we can make this work for both of us.

Sponsorship all the time to race huh? Name a few? Sponsorship is VERY hard to comeby unless your name is Ty, or Larry , or Bill, ...........Look around the CMRA paddock and ask a few of them what they are getting form who and you'll be suprised. Most are sponsored by Visa or Master Card at a rate of -/+ 9.9%............................
Contingency is a way to help, by even then an expert win will only pay like 150.00 so you just covered your front tire, maybe. Oh and you better put on a fresh one if you want to keep at the front. Novice contingency is almost a joke, 10-30.00 here and there if you got all you paperwork right.

But I will give you the best post of the year award and I'll sling you a spot for the 10/13 trackday if you can make it out.............who's your daddy? Just a little help from LMS to get you on your way to that full sponsored TRACKDAY ride...........................................Sen d me an email with your sign up info.

NICE BUCK!!!! thats more like it.. Bipolar racing won a whopping $30 for our CMRA efforts. and we Appreciate also.. it covered our fuel cost for the weekend.. on the mini

I have to say tho, what help we did get from our sponsors has been and is greatly appreciated. Without them, we would've had a tougher and MORE expensive time racing!!

Well THANK YOU Buck that is a very generous offer. Does it matter if I'm already signed up? LMS FTW!!!

I know that full or even major sponsorship is as rare as a famous person getting convicted but, I'm thinking more along the lines of a price break for tires or a little off of oil and filters.

Wait...
Does sling you a spot mean you're saving me one or giving me one? LOL

Honestly, stickers or advertising is something that is done by most riders anyway. We cover our bikes in stickers whether shops sponsor us or not. I don't really see "someone" getting sponsored to do "Trackdays" I work with LSTD and i don't get a discount on anything.

I love what i do for them tho.. As Buck said, most people are sponsored by there own bank and credit accounts.

My employer, helps me out with Entry fees for race weekends and they also purchased our KX60 race bike for us!!!

I'm not sure why you are talking the idea down because I think it has merit and could benefit both sides of the agreement.

And from where i'm standing THIS is sponsorship...

I'm glad your employer is helping out, I'm not even asking for someone to give me a bike, just a little break in exchange for some advertising.

your argument does have merit but,
the only problem is that EVERYONE who rides, is already serving as a billboard for companies and shops all over.

That's true. If you would all stop that, it would help my cause.

My thought is that since I'm not asking for free stuff, the sponsor wouldn't really be losing money.
For example, if he was to sell me tires at cost plus 10% then he is still making a small profit and has a spokesperson out in the field.
If I had a shop sponsoring me and he cut me a deal on a valve adjustment or carb sync then I could honestly say that his shop does good work and that is where everyone should go for maintenance work.

I'm giving you one..............that is your sponsorship from LMS. If you do indeed make 10TD's a year I just gave you 10% off. As for the tires, most of the guys at the track WILL give you a "Sponsorship" in the form of a rider contract. You have to have a race license I believe, but you get a better price than John Q. Public when you agreed to run only brand X tires for the year. Also the quantity will have an effect.

Patrick/Motorcycles Unlimited gives a MH discount so he's sponsoring you too if you choose to take him up on it.
Ridesmart and LSTD offer discounts for members of TSBA......are you a member?
That little bit of help you are looking for is already out there for the taking.

Sorry I don't relate your screen name to your real name so send me an email and I'll make sure you are listed correctly on the run list.

You are correct those are all good resources and I have taken advantage of Patricks generosity for several things this year.
Including a GREAT price on a set of leathers.
Thanks Patrick/Motorcycles Unlimited!!!
