Slow in, fast out, look thru the turn, the bike will go where you look.

They may not go over basic body position since it isn't a noob day, so ask Jimmy or one of the experienced guys to go over it with you.

Suspension setup is also something you should address before going. If you can't afford to take it to Motorcycles Unlimited, there are a couple online sites that go over it, but you really need 2 or 3 people to do it right.

I'm definatly used to a spirited, kneedragging pace. I ride with Jimmy every Sunday afterall. Suspension is set up and ready to go. As far as body position, I don't doubt I could use some help as I just look at people that are fast, and mimic what they do, sometimes with a slight variation because something just feels better for me. I've had a few people offer to help with anything I need though, so I'll know just how bad it is.

Chris, I already said in the 9/15 pic thread if you're out there on the 13th I'll be buying some.

My advice would be... Don't try to keep up with Jimmy.

Chris, I already said in the 9/15 pic thread if you're out there on the 13th I'll be buying some.
you should also understand one thing...i learned this real quick also.....fast on the streets, doesn't make you fast on the track. even if you were on a out knee draggin street ride.....the streets and the track are two VERY different things.

as everyone else has stated, if you need anything at the track....feel free to talk to any of the instructors, and i'll be willing to tail you around also to give you some input as well.

I dont care about being fast. My goal is to learn to be smooth, especially entering and exiting the turns.

Anyone who can help me with that, I would very much appreciate it.

I know they're two totally different worlds. If I thought they were the same, I wouldn't be spending the money to ride on the track.

Slow is fast, smooth is fast.

I've learned that the best way to make the bike feel "settled" in the corners is to finish all your braking and downshifting before you drop in. Then use the bars to turn the bike, and use a steady throttle or slightly on the gas. Don't coast in, then try to pick the gas up, because the bike will want to rock back as the gas is applied. That is why it is better to be a little slow going in, and get back on the gas.

youll be alright. like everyone else has said. learn your body position, lines, remember to relax and to freakin BREATHE. without breathing you cant do anything previously mentioned.
