No particular order

1. Follow the lines that the instructors point out.
2. Stretch
3. Take plenty of fluids.
4. Have your suspension tuned if possible
5. Have fun.

And lastly, sell everything you own now! You'll understand at the end of the day.

you should take all of the above suggestions with extreme seriousness. No b/s, yes, if i were you, i'd remove the tail light. wouldn't want it to fall off in the middle of the track and someone crash trying to dodge it or miss it laying in the middle of a turn.

They'll catch it in pre-track tech.

One of the most important things I saw on there, if not the most important, is to hydrate.

Hydration starts at least 2 days prior, with WATER, not sugary/ salty sports drinks or carbonated beverages.

You can drink those things, but in moderation. I would drink 1 sports drink to equivalent amounts of water in a 2:1 ration (2 water: 1 sports drink).

Being well hydrated will help in many areas of your day.

You'll know you're well hydrated when you urinate at least once per hour, and it's clear/ yellowish in color.

Have fun, welcome to the track-pipe!

Bananas are good to bring.

Again plenty of water water.

Instructors are there to help you so use them.

Take it easy especially in the morning since the track will still be cold.

Check your tire pressure(ask around and see what people recommend).

Bring a back protector!

Have a flippin blast man!

Is there any other foods you would recommend for a lunch?

I suppose something that would provide energy.

There still appears to be openings - check the calendar on this forum under "Longhorn Motorcycle School" It says "SOLD OUT" once it gets full. As of this moment it doesn't say that. You can email Buck for the final word.

Take everything off the bike that can be broken in a crash. Those twenty and thirty dollar items like turn signals, tail lights etc add up when you have to replace them.

Read Ketih Code's "Twist of the Wrist" and "Twist of the Wrist" before hand and afterwards. Others may recommend other books.

On the track, ride at 75 percent and relax.

Be prepared to be very tired.

Get to the track early so you won't feel rushed.

Bring a chair so you have a place to sit between sessions.

As always, have fun.

Dude,
I have been to the track days and watched these guys run but I haven't run it yet.
I have seen you ride and you are good, you should have a blast! There are no vehicles pulling out, no pot holes, and no animals to cross the track while you are running. It is just about perfect conditions.

I can't wait until next year when I start. We can ride out there together. I have a trailer big enough to tow three bikes and an F-150 to pull it with.

I'll see if I can get free to come watch.
Have fun b/c it sure looks fun!!!
