Re: i cheated death today...

man he gave me his information and all that ... but im worried that the insurance and the car are not in his name, so i hope they will pay... and i think the fact that the other popo didnt give him a ticket for not having insurance on that car is wrong but i think i can build up a good case on both of them... its not about the money its about the fact that they think that laws dont apply to them and they can do whatever they please... if you guys know a good traffic lawyer hit me up ....

Re: i cheated death today...

ihave gotten into a few accidents and it was the other drivers fault. COps usually take to long to arrive to the scene so i usually ask the people if they want to wait or if they want to fill out and sign a piece of paper saying they are at fault. They usualy do i jsut take that paper and show it to my insurance.

Re: i cheated death today...

He was actually going to meet me. If you hadn't overslept Alan, who knows. Anyway, you didn't really miss much. We had a great ride up there. However, on the way back, one of our guys lowsided just outside of Fayetteville. He slide about 80' on the asphalt before coming to a rest less than a foot!!!! from a barbed wire fence. He was wearing a full suit, so he did not get any road rash. He did shatter his right humerus just above the elbow. Thats the bone under the bicept. Doctors arent sure if the can repair it because it shattered about an inch above the elbow. He may neve have use of that arm. He did get a neat helicopter ride out of it.
I ended up making two trips to Fayetteville yesterday. After the bird left, I went back home to Pearland to get my trailer and bring his bike back. Very long day.

For those that will ask, he was traveling pretty fast. He is an expierienced rider. He did enter that corner a little hot though.

Anyway, glad you're OK Alan. Did your swingarm get up? Or your wheel? Sounds like you got some repairs to tend to now?

Re: i cheated death today...

glad u r safe!.. but i agree with dotcom, rather hit the dog next time, and without braking(rather accelerate).

and Arturo, I dont know how bad ur hit was, but I would NEVER take chances with a head injury and would get a scan done anyway. Been lucky (and stupid) once, and have learnt the lesson. ok back to topic

i hope he will gain use of his arm, sorry to hear that.... my problems are way less then that but it could have turned ugly if i went down... the only damages are cosmetics... just the tail mainly... the big hit was on the tire and since i was pushed it wasnt as bad as if i was to go down...

Re: i cheated death today...

Man...sorry for the late replay..I have been away from the board.

Glad you made it OK Porschito....!!!!!! That was a really up situation...!!!! Where the the dog came from...??? In those situations where the freeway does not has a median mostly due to construction going on, always use the middle lane, you need to always plan for "escape" routes, of course in this case with the random movements of a scare dog, planning for escape routes becomes very difficult.

Arturo: Glad you are also OK.
