Its alright the second time ever in 10 years i rode with out a helmet. I had a helmet with me except i was that squid not wearing it and was stopped by galveston PD. Of course they gave me a no helmet citation. It was a $110 lesson and reminder to always wear my helmet.

Not that I endorse riding without a helmet... but pay the $5 (and an envelope and stamp) and send off for the "Helmet Exception" sticker... cheaper than $110, IMO.

Honestly the worst that could have happened is to hit a deer. No cars around. Just thought I would share my thoughtlessness(sp?)

BTW thanks for the concern

correction the worst that could happen is that you get into an accident, and she dies. u live to be a parapaligic or however your spell it. and have to live the rest of your life knowing it takes 2 minutes to put on gear and make sure anyone that rides with you is geared up too, and a life was taken in your hands. you make the choice. every time I get on my bike I think this could be the last time. not by my actions perhaps but regardless it could happen. I am fine with that, thats the life i want to live, but I do want to live. i make it rule number one. safty is always first. I did it before and will never do it again. no exceptions.

I don't mean to rant on you, but please learn and wear your gear from now on. make it a rule to yourself. show enough appreciation of life to make others even if you don't. I hope 4 your sake you do.

And congrats on admiting it on this board, that takes some . don't be too hard on yourself. glad eveything went ok.
