The other rider was a rather young fella getting into racing. A poor choice on his part led to the accident and Todd's concusion. I can say I almost saw it coming with nine riders stacked behind a slower rider over the launch. All nine went by the slower rider and entered T16 all bunched up. Only 22 on the track at that time and 10 are within 50'. (WTF?) Racing is one thing and it's expected to be bunched up and the rider's are used to it and can make smart choices. I can not stress enough (obviously) how dangerous riding in packs with riders you do not know can be. You can not begin to understand someone else's style or line by following them for a corner or two. Todd will make a full recovery and is no worse for wear. His bike is not that bad, bit of paint, sliders, wheels, and a dinged exhaust can. Air fence in that corner and everyone gets up, laughs and learns. That is the worst crash I've seen at MSRH and I'm glad Todd will be alright, if not a bit sore today. Thanks to the staff and ambulance crew for making the right decisions. Todd was at first very cognisant and responsive to questions. Knew his name, where he was, date, etc. But after asking what turn he's in 20 times in 2 minutes we knew he had at least a mild concusion. After being loaded in the ambulance, he became nauseous(sp) and started sluring words and babbling incoherently. This was when the decision to fly him to Herman was made by Paramedics. As stated before, bleeding and brusing often share the same symptoms so I applaude the decision to fly on the side of caution. All the Monday morning medics can second guess, and criticize for days, but if it was your friend, S/O, brother, friend, the last thing you are thinking about is the cost of the ride. If you are riding without insurance, you need to remember that one mistake by you or SOMEONE ELSE can bring you worlds of financial hurt. Be prepared!! Riding or racing is a decision that should not be taken lightly. You can have serious finacial impact onyourself or your loved ones. Said it before..........stupid hurts. Not always yourself, but it hurts.

Wow, doesn't that sound familiar.

Nothing worse than being taken out by someone else over which you have no control. It is a nightmare come true. Todd, I am sorry it happened to you. There is one thing about crashing and going home and trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it but the feeling of not having had any control was pretty unsettling to me.

I hope that Todd will be okay. I had a bad concussion but they let me leave the hospital in the afternoon, any concern why they've kept him in the hospital?

I am keeping my fingers crossed and wishing Todd a super quick recovery!

WoW.. so bunching up happened with just 22 riders on the track? Amazing..!

Hope you get well soon Todd, it was nice meeting you earlier this month at the tmgp races.

What sucks the most is that this bike was for sale.. hope it was fully insured!

Get well soon dude!

Buck any news on the air fence?

Amen. And I'm sure Todd understands this given his line of work.

Good work all-around sounds like to me.

Without defining "bad", my guess is that different MD's treat people differently, depending on the situation and symptoms. My guess is that that MD (apparently correctly) assessed you and his opinion was that you were fine to leave.

Apparently, the MD's at Hermann felt differently with Todd for whatever reason.

Nothing wrong with either decision, both are within standard of care for certain situations.

Good to hear that he is being released.

He'll be "loopy" for a few days.

Head injury = one thing, broken toe = something else.
well if that girl was insured, im sure the insurance compnay will call that a bunch of and fight the payment

thats the good thing to be insured, they fight for every ridiculous charge they find on the bill

it happened to me when i went down, i was transported in an ambulance and got surgery

a month later i received the bill, later that month i received the same bill with a ton of things missing

those were the ridiculous charges the insurance companies wont pay

if they wont pay u wont pay, for a 33,000.00 i ended up paying 600

and i have 10% liability in that bill
