If records sales are any indication, he doesn't suck, he has a rather large fan base. But, different people have different tastes in music, so take from it what you will...

Quote:
West's "Graduation" is on pace to sell about 575,000 to 700,000 its first week out, while 50 Cent's "Curtis" is on track to do 550,000, according to Billboard magazine.

As of day one, Kanye had sold 437,000 copies to 50's 310,000, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

MTV Awards, Grammy's, Emmy's, etc don't mean . It's not like you get a big check just because you win an MTV Award. Dude is getting bent for no reason.

I'm tired of his ignorant racial comments too.

And besides, those award shows are commercially motivated and pretty much rigged. Some of the best music I've ever heard will never even make it to mainstream radio let alone the MTV awards.

Very true which is evidenced by a still unsigned artist named John West, dude has great music but is STILL unsigned...same goes for many other artists...nowadays it's more about your gimmick than your talent...

And I agree with your basic idea of the unimporatnce of the MTV music awards, why do you care when you've won 5 Emmy's...besides, you are on top on the Charts, who gives a shyt about a lil moon man...really? :/:

i have to agree he says some wild stuff but ...

put yourself in his shoes in a flip situation.
your the #1 motogp rider you have been at the top of your game 2 years in a row. Motogp is awarding mvp or best rider of the season some ... you lose to like the third place guy who is a fan favorite.

are you going to be mad ? exactly

if you take out the wild stuff he says his music is really good , but like cajun said look at his record sales he must not suck THAT bad

Any time you leave anything up to judging or voting, you will get the fan favorite or some sort of bias.

+1

I myself was never a fan of Olympic games that required judging. How's is a real competition if your score is based on someone's opinion. Oh well. :/:

Man I feel you on that^^^ These awards shows dont matter, if your good then your good why does he need MTV to tell him that he's good? And dont even get me started on the whole race card thing.(Its not a valid argument)
