Thx for the help and input.. but i think i've got it to where i want it. I've got to work out one small section on my tank and i'll be ready to go.

i need to take a break for this project for a bit before i start my tail.. The more and more i do it the lazier i get.

Re: Paint trial.

ive sprayed some bikes down with spray paint and look good. even a new 2005 636. ive used a spray gun on my old bike too but for what he wants and probaly whats he has seen me do with some plastics, maybe thats why he wants to spray can it.

if everything is sanded down use spot primer on the bare plastic showing. the reason you had bumps is because the surface wasnt clean and stuff just built up there. after that part dries up use a finer grade sandpaper or wet sand the pieces.

light coats and clear coat is NOT needed IMO.

Re: Paint trial.

Painting is all about prep work. The painting part is usually pretty easy. Especially if you are only trying to get a fair paint job out of it. right:

Re: Paint trial.

Found this bike on another forum. This guy spray canned it and it came out pretty good. I don't like the whole color change paint but quality is decent. The devil is in the details when it comes to paint. If your prepp is good the actual painting is pretty easy.

Re: Paint trial.

Bao, looks like you got a splatter from the can, try shaking it up alot better next time, If your surface isn't clean then you will get an orange peel effect... other then that Good Luck !

looks like you had dirty/greasy surface still... Definitely make sure it is thoroughly cleaned.

As for the spray paint... I dunno what Porschito is thinkin sayin that spray cans dont work.. WRONG!

I sprayed mine down and it looks great. Ive also see javier's bike and it looks good too. Rookies just don't have the skillllzzz
