that would depend if the inspector likes you or not. everything listed is required by law.

mine passed with out the light. I told the inspector I took it off when I installed my tail light and forgot to put it back on.

Does it matter where the plate is for inspection as long as the l/p light is in the right place and functioning?

Edit: My l/p light works but there's no way in it shines on my plate.

nope, it can be upside down for all we care.....it's not in DPS's rulebook how the license plate is mounted....and as long as there is a light, it will pass.

some places are lenient (sp?) and tend to "overlook" a few things. i'm a rider, so i can understand a thing or two....but if you have wires coming outta your tires, or your brake calipers are leaking fluid everywhere....i'm not gonna pass you. simply because, you're gonna kill yourself riding around on a death machine such as that.

it's only a safety inspection....so nobody's gonna ride your bike around. and if they say they have to......they're lying.

A brake test has to be performed, but you can tell the inspector no and do it yourself for him. Most sportbike riders let me ride their bike in. I always ask if they want me to do it, or if they would rather do it themselves.

As long as a MC has decent tires, and I don't see brake fluid shooting out somewhere, I 'forget' to do a brake test most of the time. Silly me.
