Got My "M!"

Just GOOD news. Didn't know where else to post it.

Will be riding low and slow late Sunday in NE area... (Only because I work until then and I'm not gearing up to ride for 10 minutes!)

If I feel confident enough, I'm going to ride across the 242 from the Flying J on 59 to 45 and back. May stop for dinner off 45 before the return ride.

It's not a long ride, it's not a fancy/twisty ride, it's close enough to highway speeds without being a highway and it only has a few (3 or 4 before Conroe) intersections... Hopefully Sunday around 6:00 pm-ish there won't be a lot of traffic.

Remember. I'm as green as they come. I've only be riding 4 days. I want to keep to the back roads to build confidence. I will ride around my neighborhood tomorrow (speeds of 25 - 40 mph) for a couple hours but may not get the chance to ride again until Sunday, so everything is flexible.

I'm also waiting for my L'il Sis to get her gear and M, she's been unable to get to the DMV, but she'll go Friday and her gear came today. We plan a short (maybe and hour) ride Friday around the neighborhood and I'll let everyone know Friday night if Sunday is a No or a Go!

Congrats.... You'd be suprised how many riders think that having a "M" class is not necessary/needed. I always question why people ride without it. I mean, if you "know" how to ride, why not go take the road course. One ticket for not having "M" endorsement is probably 100 bucks, if not more. It's worth the 3 or 4 hours of "hassle" you have to go through to wait in line at DPS, etc.

Congrats again!

Ditto, plus the fact that you can be arrested if the officer wants to.

We get about one call a month from someone that got arrested and had their bike impounded........they're always in shock......"but I thought it was just a ticket" LOL

Just for the record.......

There's a motorcycle safety forum that meets every January in Austin to try and come up with ways to reduce motorcycle accidents/fatalities.
One of the ideas that's been presented the last couple of years is to stop giving tickets and just arrest people for not having an M endorsement.

Just a thought.........

PS
Congrats Meaner.......sorry for going off topic
