you look for trouble you'll find it.
In the article he says that he was assaulted by a police officer, that's why he mounted cameras in his car. He also tells the officer that it's for security reasons. His reason for being in the commuter lot was so that he could pick up a friend. It was a 24-hour lot which probably means that the bus or train runs all night.

Some people confuse standing up for yourself with being a 'jackass'.

I was pulled over quite a bit when I was younger. All you had to do was be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Harris County Cops loved harassing the kids in my neighborhood, they'd even admit it to you (to your face).

racer x says nothing has ever happened to him so it must not happen...Would you like to talk to someone In I.A. that has put more than a few bad cops away in jail? We are dealing with human nature...there are bad elements everywhere including law enforcement...

Not at Walmart or any other place that deals with the public. Service with a smile.

What gives cops the right to act like a deranged lunatic? The badge? The gun?

Bottom line, is you don't have to people a complete jackass to do your job. (except for you RacerX, it IS your job )

yeah thats it, all cops are good and follow the letter of the law, kinda like all sportbiker pull wheels and blow by at 150+

and if my experiences have been pos. how much faith should i put on those who've had a bad experience? considering i've been driving longer then alot of people have been alive. and have never been called a "slow driver" and have had my share of pull overs and tickets. i should take y'alls words that most cops are bad.

No one said most cops are bad. But they are out there and YOU should not discredit those people who have had bad experiences with them. Once again, I saw it alot growing up. My mom retired 2 months ago and carries a 9mm with her every where she goes. Needless to say she did not make many friends busting crooked cops for so many years. But I guess since you weren't there to peek in the case files I am just blowing smoke.

I guarantee not many of you people had to grow up worried that any car that stopped in front of your house was a off cop or drug lord fixin to blow holes in your house. I did and had to call 911 a few times. There are crooked cops they are not a fairy tale.

haha...I don't look at the world through rose colored glasses. Cops are suppose to serve and protect not harass and intimidate. America needs to wake up and take back our freedoms that we have willingly given away.

this could of all been avoided if the guy simply said "waiting for a friend"

Should he be able not to say it? Yes
Still, there is freedom, and then common courtesy. I should be able to walk into a dark alley waving a gold rolex in the air also, but when I get robbed, is anyone really surprised? No

Should and reality are vastly different. Does the cop deserve all thats coming to him? yea, way out of line.
Was the guy a ? yes

before I get flamed, obviously my example is extreme, and does not mean that if you don't display common courtesy should you be harrased and threatened with going to jail. Merely making a point.

My freedom doesn't end because I am courteous.

LOL... what do you mean? dude he TEACHES msf... he knows EVERYTHING. If he says it, it must be true.

look, everyone knows if you stroke a cops overblown ego by "yes office of course office I'm so sorry officer please and thank you officer" then it may not reduce your chances of getting a ticket, but it will probably improve the treatment you get from the officer.

The problem is that my experience with cops is that at least 50% of the time they have a chip on their shoulder the size of rhode island, they are usually pretty low intelligence and appear to be unable to reason correctly, they take any attempt to disagree with them as a challenge to their authority, and they abuse their authority by misrepresenting the law, making inappropriate comments and threats, and outright lying.
Cops are not ****ing superheros. They are regular people who got an associate degree and joined the force.

There is nothing about the job of a cop that means I should have to treat them with more respect than I treat my own father (someone who has EARNED my respect). I should be allowed to disagree with a cop, and if he tries to manipulate me with lies I shouldn't have to play along and suck to stay out of jail and stay in his good graces.

The fact is, most cops that DEMAND unearned respect for the badge from people who are doing nothing wrong are the same cops that erode peoples trust in the police and make the public wary of LEOs in the first place.

Do cops have a tough job? probably. but they signed on for that . Do they have authority and should they be allowed to act on it? yes, but there are ways to do so without abusing that authority. Are there good cops out there? Yes, I know there are. And you know what? The good cops treat YOU with respect and they get the same in return.
Its like I've always said, if youre an , everyone is going to treat you like an .
And the cop in the video was an if I've ever seen one.

To top all that off the tape clearly shows the guy used his blinker to enter the parking lot. Technology is sure changing our world - the #2 cop had enough smarts to behave in front of the cameras. It'd sure be interesting to hear the outcome of this.
