Personally, the best sound for the size is the fosgate punch series. What price are you really looking for. To some $300/sub is cheap, and to others $100/sub is cheap.

Audiobahn makes a good cheaper speaker. I had two 10s in my CRX and they sounded awesome. Enough bump if you wanted other people to hear, but good clean crisp sound. I think I paid like $65/ea at a shop new, and I was pushing them with a boss 1200 watt amp. It was a cheap setup at the time, but was great for the price. Upgraded to Fosgate everything later when funds got better.

you can either get a line output converter or if your amp has high level inputs, you can just hook it up directly to your factory speaker wires.

btw I have a kicker solobaric S10L7 that I can sell you for $175. let me know.

I don't like doing that. I always use an aftermarket stereo. The only real good way of doing it is with what is called a "Clean Sweep" from JL Audio. I have seen factory stereos hooked up to amps in many cars, and this is the only way it has really sounded good. If you hook up top of the line subs, and you don't connect to a factory stereo correctly, it can sound worse than a setup you buy at walmart.

true, there are companies that make adapters so you can connect RCAs to the factory radio without cutting any wires, but it sounded like he didn't want to spend too much money. how much is that clean sweep?

About $300, but for the people who have some of those new cars with a radio that really isn't easy to replace without affecting the whole look of the interior, this thing is awesome. You have a to control the gain that mounts whereever you want. Cool thing. I would suggest to go ahead and buy a cheap aftermarket radio from a resale shop or online and replace your stock radio. If not, it may not be worth changing out your stock sub.

If you don't pay professionals to install it, or really know what you are doing, when you add an amp and sub to a stock radio, you get noises from your coil. If you have been in peoples "self installed" cars, you may have noticed a squeal that gets louder with the RPMs of their car. That noise can be annoying.
