I just left there, great morning for him (and exciting for me)! When the PT got there, he was able to mostly get out of bed himself and sit on the edge, and then he walked across and down the hall a bit with a walker!

Still has fever, and may have to have one more surgery, and they are watching him like a hawk (infection is a huge concern with so many surgeries). The rehab MD was there with the RT, and he was "very pleased" with his progress, and is "surprised by how well you're doing considering the amount and severity of your injuries and surgeries".

He's a strong dude, young, in good shape, has a fantastic SO who stays by his side day in and day out, not to mention the support of his brother being in town for support.

By all means, keep him in your prayers/ thoughts/ or whatever drives you "spiritually". It makes a difference.

PM me if you are visiting and would like to know where to see him.

I visited last night, and the good news is that he may be released to heal at home possibly by Monday!

He'll still have a lot of PT and wound care, along with regular (daily) visits by home healthcare, but at least he'll be at home. His Mother and one of his Sisters are here, and they'll be staying with him for a while while he recuperates.

I gave him the raffle proceeds, he was overwhelmed by the generosity. Mad props to Cycle Gear for getting that together for his benefit! Julie and Memo are "two in a million"!

tonight Alberto called me from home!! good to hear he is better, at least good enough to be at home.

he'll have a nurse come by his house and check him out periodically to make sure everything is improving. He's being cared for now by his mother, sister, and the ever so strong Lindy.. All is well for now, it's just going to be a long process to get back to 100%.

i guess this weekend i'm gonna break out the plaid g-string and my best wife beater, go to his house and do the lawn work for him while he watches. Anyone want to dress up and help?

Hi all,

I can't stress enough how good it feels to have friends like you guys, everytime i remember the accident and your support, tiers come out of my eyes.

I have never had so much pain in my life, there were many crazy moments but thank i am here at home recovering.

In a few weeks i will plan a party at my house once i can spend more time siting in a chair.
The extend of my injuries are:
8 broken ribs (many confusions with people here), titanium rod replaced my right femur, right broken anckle, 3/4 of my small intestine removed, damaged , i have to wear a cholostomy bag for 6-12 months and then get surgery again to put everything back, and many bruises and pain all over.

Thank my vertebras were not touched and i can move freely but of course my tummy don't let me do much, i have 40 stiches that hurt but oh well.

I willl post a new thread with my story at the hospital, i don't remember much of the first 10 days but guys have helped me know what happened.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL OF YOU THAT HELP ME WITH PRAYERS AND VISIT ME, I COULDN'T HAVE MADE IT WITHOUT YOU GUYS. tHANKS TO MY GF LINDY THAT WAS THERE AND IS ALL THE TIME I OWE HER SO MUCH.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Motorcycles Unlimited

Crazy question... do they have to remove the titanium rod later or is this permanent?
