...looking for finding something that's not in too bad of shape, and possible future help.

Looking, 50's fat-fenders or early 60's chevy, swb step-side...

Seen some real, dogs that were overpriced...
Ie: '57,... 'very good', 350 & 'new' exhaust. for 4k

350 was a 305, mis-matched valve covers. Firewall cut, piece of tin riveted in place (from colomn to floor shift). 'New' exhaust, pair of straight pipes with $20 glass packs. Door bottoms, blistered so bad you could put a pencil through em. Cab-steps, plate steel held to the body with bondo, cab corners were toast. Bed floor, gone and pair of rust holes top of the cab.

Dunno, maybe i'm a cheap bastage and got high expecations for $.

Well you can find some without ALL those problems for less. it takes alot of looking around. Driving through back woods roads and getting lucky. I found about what your looking for near clover field in friendswood about a year ago and they wouldn't sell and if they did it would have been for about 6k. it had already been partialy restored nice though. real nice. Some of those are quick and cheap fix's if you know what your doing like the lower cab and floor board. I would say just keep looking, try the green sheet or something ppl don't really read all that often. I've been in the same boat as you though for the past 3 years, my expectations are kinda high for what I want to get. I still haven't found a 68 camaro body thats worth buying yet. Ive been doing body work for many of years and the best advice would have to be, when you go to buy it take a bodyman with you, if your not one yourself. That way you have a good idea what all will need to be addressed.(ruff price on how much it will be to fix it, what can be fixed and what has to be replaced, or even straight frame or not.) I don't locate them, but if you have any questions or want someone to look at it with you or whatever, send me a pm I'd be glad to help.
