Actually, Britain still uses the standard system not the metric. They use the metric system for some items, but speed and mileage is still calculated at mph... just fyi, before you go bashing the new media...

the kid is an idiot... at least he lived to ride and fight the ticket, but I guess he never heard of 'you have the right to remain silent"... he has already lost his case by admitting on camera that he had gone faster than the english vid... what a tool...

All bikes sold in Great Britain register speed in kph... though they can be altered to register speed in mph.

**I believe the USA is the ONLY country where bike sold from dealers come with factory speeds in mph. That is one of the main reasons that all post 2001 restricted motorcycles have a top speed of 186mph = 300kph.
