A long time ago, an older rider told me (forgot the exact words): "If you can't ride that bike smoothly in the rain, as in accelerating, turning, braking, stopping... if you can't ride in it like it's second nature, then you shouldn't be riding that bike until you gain more experience. Practice in the rain, whenever possible." He went on to say, my focus should be on the road and the conditions, not on whether or not I'm gonna slide out on my bike, because then I won't be focused on what's going on around me. It sounded like good advise, but my attitude was like "yeah, of course... whatever", and I blew his advise off. A couple weeks later, in the rain, my bike found its way into the curb, as I low-sided around an easy turn. Looking back... I should have listened.

^First car event I ever did was in the rain and man did I learn alot. Earlier this year alot of the moto TD's I attended had quite a bit of the wet stuff and man do you learn alot about your bike.

Good advise...just make sure your tires are good to go before you go rain riding.
