Yeah, That is what everybody keeps saying.... just get out there with the faster guys and start learning. So, I am going to take a deep breathe and go for it. Hopefully I can break the 2 minute barrier. right:

Re: I know it's a little early, but 09/05/05

Question for the pros that have been to TWS (Texas World Speedway).... where do you guys usually camp out for the night if you plan to be there Sunday evening? I know a few folks are staying in nearby hotels. Any suggestions?

Re: I know it's a little early, but 09/05/05

You just bring a tent and the paddock area is covered so you can just pitch tent and sleep right next to your bike. If you ride into town there are a few hotels there. Ive never stayed at a hotel there I've either camped or stayed w/a buddy of mine that lives out there.
If you know of a group of people that r gonna camp out it's cool to do it. You can have a few beers and kick back and chat and then go to bed.

I ended up just renting via the ridesmart web site. It was only $50 for leathers and $25 for boots.* I want to throw down so money on a good set after this track day, but I have not spent time looking. I don't want to just go out and buy one for the sake of buying it for the 5th. If I'm spending $600+ on leathers, I want to shop around.

Will anybody be camping the night before? If so, how many? And what time do the gates open the night before to let us in?

I may end up just driving up in the morning. :dontknow:

gas can and the KEY! also underarmour, a small fan, foldable chair, and some wet wipes to clean yourself off in the morning and afternoon to feel fresh right:

Gates open at 6pm I believe the day before... I may or may not go up there the night before it just all depends on weather!

Re: I know it's a little early, but 09/05/05

Anybody know what the procedure is for getting a refund for a Ridesmart trackday? I don't think I will be able to make it Monday with my gentoff yesterday. The bike just won't be ready that quick. I will probably come up and hang out... take pics and that cool stuff.

Do I just call Dave and cancel? :dontknow:

what level were you riding in? My friend wanted to register for beginner level(filled up), but I'm sure you were probably in "B" or something.

You can cancel but you won't get a refund... You'll get credit for a future track day.*
I guess if u wanted to get a $$ refund you could tell em somethin like you're never gettin on the track ever again
