If people bought a player based on its abilities & etc, Zune would have been a giant hit. Ipod is a household name though so its hard to compete against that.

... and many other players before that. People laughed at the ipod when it came out too.

Compare their Xbox effort vs Sony, Sega, nintendo vs Zune vs ipod. Yikes!

It cost way too much until the ability to play videos came on the ipod. I remember when they were charging 250 bucks to only play songs.

macbooks are nice looking but that's about it. My girlfriend has a macbbok pro and I have sony vaio with windows vista that has way more applications and it weights less than 3 pounds--beat that apple!.
for mp3, I have a zune. it has a lot of memory, good display, and you can share music via wi-fi. plus a friend of mine taught me how to hack the zune and now I can keep all the songs I recieve through wi-fi, as oppossed to only being allowed to play them 3 times.

They've come a loooooong way since then.

I loved the old Apple IIe's. Never cared for the more modern, but pre-OSX macs.

THRE ARE A MULTITUDE OF THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE FOR WINDOWS AS OPPOSED TO LEOPARD.
PLUS MY LAPTOP HAS BIOMETRICS SO TYPING A PASSWORD EVERYTIME I START IT IS NOT REQUIRED ANYMORE.
I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST MACBOOKS, BUT YOU CAN GET THE SAME PERFORMANCE OF A MACBOOK PRO IN DELL THAT COSTS $1000 LESS.

The same goes for macs. Tons and tons of 3rd party/shareware/freeware apps available. And umm.. Leopard isn't even out yet.

Meh. You can't even hit the capslock key, so I guess typing a password is VERY difficult for you. It might also explain all your calls to tech support for not being able to login. Biometrics = problem solved?

Maybe, but you're still stuck with Windows. Blech. I'd install Linux on it though.

Not.

Configure a Dell with the same processor, ram, video card, web cam, microphone, and the apps, and see the cost. Plus, when your computer breaks.....where you going to take it, a kiosk?

Windows has been stealing from mac so long its funny. Vista is a version of OSX, just not as stable or as good, and while vista came out all buggy, Leopard is about to be released.

As for having to convert your songs for the ipod, it's because windows freaking encoded its music, trying to keep you from using it on anything else. Itunes plays everything else and allows you to convert it to other formats also.Wonder why there are so many rumor sites about mac....how many about windows again?

Vista sux hard ...If it was in anyway even remotely coded on OSX, it might run run a little better, but other then the Rip-off tool bar they made that looks just like the one on mac's OS, there is nothing even close about the two OS's.

And just to clarify. Vista Sux .
