Dude

So many peeps take vacation the week before and after a Holiday if I were a cope I would skip lunch to write tickets around the holidays. And I would pull your A$$ over to F with ya if i could not see your plate Come on man everything that your saying is legit reasons to get pulled over. Get over it. did they Rodney King your a$$? If not clean up your act and get over it.

FYI who says that you have to stop if you dont see them? read your signature

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

Having the inspection sticker on the swingarm is NOT legal, unless you have the plate there as well in plain sight from behind.

The only thing is u CAN see my license plate when ur behind me. Theres a difference between being able to see it and not being able to see it. Im not crying about anything, I was just asking if anybody else was having a problem.

Apparently not visible enough for the LEO that pulled you over.

I had a trooper come and look at my bike about a month ago and he told me everything was legit and legal. I dont think he would have told em that if something wasn't right. We all know how they are.

Don't forget that license plate lights is required.

To answer your question about if any of us have been harassed or pulled over for tucked license plate and inspection sticker on the swing arm, yes I have got pulled over for those two things and I have changed that.

They can still pull you over to check to see if your helmet is DOT approved and insurance.

With all the bikes that get stolen, maybe the cops pull you over for the minor stuff just to check the VIN and make sure you're not on a stolen scooter...

Its been known to happen (and bikes do get recovered that way)...

I love that pic of the cops and the bike... Imma make it my profile pic!

What we have here, is a failure to communicate.

Officers enforce the law as they understand it... what one officer might find acceptable is different from another. The court, Ie Judge makes the determination... the attorney/lawyer is the one who attempts to clarify it for you.

In short, what one officer/trooper says doesn't matter when another one pulls ya over.

DPS on plates...

TRC §502.404.

OPERATION OF VEHICLE WITHOUT LICENSE PLATE OR REGISTRATION INSIGNIA.

* * * * *

(c) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a public highway during a registration period a road tractor, motorcycle, trailer, or semitrailer that does not display a license plate, attached to the rear of the vehicle, that has been:

(1) assigned by the department for the period; or

(2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the period.

===
Now if they wanted to get technical I imagine they could claim the plate is mounted within or underneat the bike, thus making it mroe difficult to see/read.

You can write motorcycle.safety@txdps.state.tx.us <motorcycle.safety@txdps.state.tx.us> and you should get an email back from Cliff Burdette about it...who'll probably tell you that the legal department recommends that you affixe the plate to the general/design that the original mfg had it installed/placed.

...and i'm providing this, as I recall in another forum someone complaining about 'justifiable cause' for pulling someone over.

INSPECTION BY PEACE OFFICER.

Any peace officer may stop and detain a motorcycle, motor driven cycle, or moped to determine if the vehicle is of a model and make certified by the department.

Also have my inspection on the side and never had a problem with any cops, and I have passed several. Sitting at a stoplight today and was talking to one and he never showed any type of harassment. Only thing he said was that it was nice to see me wearing gear and told me to watch out for the cars out there.
