I am one of those "Only when i drink" smokers. I enjoy it in clubs or bars. It is part of the scene. Well this will take away my reason to smoke at all. While it is good for my health, this will start to affect the economy. Just think how high the taxes are on cigarettes. The less people are allowed to smoke, the more jobs are going to be lossed, and ultimately, the government is going to have to find a way to re-coop that lossed revenue. Just wait, everything else is going to be more expensive. Can you say gas?? I'm on the fence on the idea. Since I'm one of those people that don't HAVE to smoke, it doesn't bother me too much, I just don't like them telling us what we can and CAN'T do. They should have gone out and provided grants for people to start up smoke free bars just to see what happens. That would give places for people who hate it to go. I bet they would be dead and lame. The banning in restaurants I think is a great idea. The bars and clubs are just stupid. I personally won't take the time to go into city limits to go out anymore.

Well, I don't smoke. So at least I won't have to "smoke" because someone else is.

I understand not being able to in a restraunt, but in a bar... Luckely for me half the bars in the CL area are outside of Houston city Limits, so as of right now the only place it really affects me is at Sherlocks, I think the whole thing is a little excessive. they should at lease have an indoor smoking section without making all the smokers go outside, or it should be at the discression of the management.

, sherlocks on the south side is in on this ban too? That's where my friends were wanting to go for my b-day due only to the facts that there's no door fee (more money for the drinks) and that they thought we could smoke. Anybody else know of some good bars in CL that have live bands and STILL allow smoking? Oh and of course no door fee haha..

There's no such thing as indoor smoking section. If smoking is allowed, the smoke is everywhere.

Smokers wouldn't know this though. They can't smell chit anymore.
