, get night sights, I hate those stock XD sights...What range did ya'll go to? A MH meet at one of the ranges would be awesome, it would have to be Shooter's Station in Conroe(nice indoor) or Hot Wells in Katy/Cypress area(25-50-100 yd ranges and decent outdoor pistol range), since I know the owners at both I could bring some prettttttty neat guns for everyone to check out too.

his are bent more due to absorbing the recoil but ive had to shoot with the gun almost at my face different situations might not allow you to be fully extended so you would need to practice at retention.

Elbows should be bent, but the strong side wrist should be in line with the barrel.

Close your eyes. Lift your strong hand up, closed fist, and point your finger at an imaginary target. Now, open your eyes and look at your hand and wrist position. That is your natural position.

You may have to turn your body slightly to get a comfortable spot.

Also, push with your strong arm, and pull back with the weak supporting hand to "lock" the pistol on target. Knees and arms should be bent.

Ninja nana... you have some land to shoot on? When? Time to load up some of the "arsenal" and head out..

This pic was from last years little get together at my buddies place in Louisiana.. some of the toys anyhow

+1 Good advice.
Also, don't use the tip of your finger, using your distal joint gives you way more control and consistency.
Read anything that the Army has on advanced markmanship or by Ayoob and it stresses that point.

For help diagnosing your hand gun shooting problems, this has been a long standing resource...

And so far as finger/trigger placement, there are a lot of recommendations, but it boils down to what you are comfortable with.

Keep in mind the chart is for a right handed shooter. If you're a lefty, like me, it'll be opposite.
