[QUOTE=hotnanas;735564]haha...well I still wonder why good ol' Abe Saavedra is in charge after he got run out of Corpus.

for the answer to that question you need look no further than the color of his skin, they were determined to find a hispanic for that job and they didnt try to keep that a secret either.

i would hope next time they will look for the most qualified candidate, regardless of race. i dont think a man who left his previous job under scandalous circumstances was the right choice.

Ha, like that will happen! Affirmative action went out of date in the 70's.

I just want to know why my school taxes go up every year, to pay for all the new schools being built, that hardly teach in English anymore?

, I don't even have a kid in school! My grand daughter is the only anglo saxon on her bus anymore.

Oh, well, welcome to North Mexico!

i agree with a previous post that it is important that officers keep up with current slang. ghetto slang is used by alot of different races. I'd be willing to bet HPD gang task force has a similar guide book.

I heard about this on radio yesterday.
The officer who wrote the manual (tittled ebonics 101) is a white male who's married to a black woman and has mixed race kids, so calling him a racist is just stupid.

Look it don't matter what color you are, its not what you say, or how you say it. its what you do that defines you. everywhere on this earth in every type of culture/ sub-culture has there own forms of language. if you go to london, english there isn't english here. the slang of tex-mex to mexican spanish to spanish from spain (castillian i think?-I don't spell but you get the drift.) its all gonna be different. and slang changes from region to region in the us. We say we want a coke and someone ask what kind, here. in Oregon they ask you if you want a pop, or a soda. in the north east its sodapop. who gives a . learn it to stay up with the times or don't. Don't waist time out of everyones short life for something pettie and bs like that. thats like calling me racist cause I learned what cracker, wetback, ***** or means. And im far from it. Im not stressin, their the ones waisting there life complaining.

and yea we shouldn't put corrupt politicians in office we should be removing them. I say a new law should come out, if there is even the slightest inclination that theres scandal or corruption, we should have them removed from office and not to ever be alowed into public service ever again. that way they will have to keep there in there pants and others money out, if they want to have a job in any local, state, or federal position again. thats if they are guilty or not. cause the corrupt can pay to not be guilty. we need to make them run scared cause of us. not the other way around!!
