+1...I was considering the ride but aside from how early it was 1) I had a feeling and 2) I noticed how many folks were coming...I stick to the smaller rides and with folks I know or know that can ride...like Patrick said, if you can avoid the drama, do so... seeing someone die/get seriously injured isn't one of those high points you'll experience in life...glad everyone made it home in one piece, be safe out there

everyone's made a good point about how a large group can possibly make it unsafe. but the two riders that went down weren't trying to do anything stupid or trying to keep up. they just simply made a mistake which can happen to anybody.

I don't know the specific circumstances of the two incidents you are referring to (I saw Nsg35 mention he hit gravel, understandable...the exception and not the rule though) but more often than not, excessive speeds and riding above one's abilities tends to be the cause of accidents...at least in the few I've actually witnessed this year. Just be careful out there everyone n be mindful of who it is you ride with...

I was the next bike behind Danny, maybe 15 feet it was definately not a speed thing, was prolly only doing 20 mph, I personally think for some reason he just lost concentration for a split second and went a little wide in a right hander and then the very next left he just drifted a little wide and hit gravel also, very slow speed. Now Evans accident I didnt witness because I was in front of him at the time, but when we got back, there was definately gravel in the road, we must of been lucky not to hit it. I just glad they are both OK.

Geeze folks -- ya'll are acting like these two individuals "wadded up" hard! It was a good day. No one was seriously injured. No one was cited for traffic law violations. Everyone acted with respect and courtesy towards one another. We all got to ride. In my book -- that's a good day. I've experienced days like when my friend was life flighted. Thank the supreme being for no such incidents. I agree with the assessment that the two incidents were related to lack of concentration. I hope they learned a really inexpensive lesson (the damage was very minor and no one was hurt). I've said it before and I'll say it again, "tickets and wrecks!" If you can't deal with either, don't get involved in this sport!

i was right in front of evan before he went down. i didn't actually see it happen cause i was concentrating on the turn. but i can assure you i wasn't going very fast. just noticed a couple turns later that nobody was following anymore

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

Jimmy is a great friend and a great rider, I will always continue to ride with him, and support him 100%, sometimes things just happen, this is a dangerous sport, we all know that and accept the risks
