Request for help (Friday)??

I was looking at this SV650S (2003/11k mi/rides good seems mechanically sound) but I'd like to have someone go with me Friday morning/afternoon and check it out to make sure I'm not walking into a shitload of problems. I'll buy lunch/compensate for your time somehow.. + obviously you'll make a new friend

Anyone willing to help me out? The bike is at Hwy 6/West Little York near my house...

Pics of the bike: (if the scratches/faring damage is the worst of it, I'm in good shape)

those look like aftermarket bodywork upper and lowers. Should be able to repair easily.

buy the 250, don't spend a dime fixing it. ride it for a few months, sell it for what you paid, now you have a nice downpayment and have learned a thing or 3. SV is a marginal beginner bike.

that things been down on both sides......lol

take the MSF before you do anything bike, i've failed people w/ bikes in their garage.......now that sucks!

Trust me the MSF is on my list before anything... I'm keeping my options open...I was trying to get in to a class Friday-Sunday this weekend but everything looks jam-packed....

I'm not insistent on buying the SV, just wanted someone local (and yes competent to come look at it with me)... In reality I'll probably drop the $ on the 250 for starters and just have fun....(after my MSF of course)

It was 3400+ TTL... I got countered with 3500$ out the door and they accepted.. but again.. I was just window shopping/feeling... And I still need to do my MSF and I really should do the 250 first... (my gut tells me that).. I just love the looks/styling/handling of the SV.. and it doesn't have that nutty power band that the GSXR does (like at 8k.... OOOPS we're going to throw an assload of power at you.. get ready!) lol

You financing or paying cash? A grand or so more and you can get a new GT650R Hyosung with a 2 year warranty..

it might be the way the bike is angled but it looks like the left foot peg is bent. The toe shifter looks damaged and passenger peg bracket looks bent in as well...translates to bent sub frame.

Cash... I only deal with cash...

I've looked at the Hyosung online... I was going to check out their 250 over at MPH by my house.... I haven't seen anyone riding them around here... then I've read a lot of negative reviews on them as far as them falling apart after a while....or is that just hearsay?

For that kind of money, you can find a cleaner looking SV.

The older ones had some issues, but since the 06 models everything seems to be good.

You're welcome to check out the wifes 650; we're not too far from you, NW Houston.

The styling on the 250 is identical, other than the frame (same fairing fits both bikes).

With cash you might be able to make a killer deal on an 06 or 07.. give Monster up in Tomball a call, ask for Julie.

And that's a lot closer to me too... I'd honestly want a teacher that is strict who will help me correct my bad habits and help me get a bit more confident...

PM me... I had some questions for you anyways...

The frame and the engine that is... I've looked at the 250 on youtube and in some galleries and for a 250.. it's nice looking and seems to have enough power to keep me out of trouble but just enough to get me in trouble Really for me it's all about the ride... but I can't help loving some eyecandy on a car/bike.. it comes from my show-car past..
