Pedrosa going Green??

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/Aug/0708271.htm

The 2007 MotoGP season has largely been a painful one—if you're a Michelin rider. Michelin has seen its long-held domination of the class vanquished by Bridgestone this season and while the rumor mills are filled with rumors of new teams and manufacturers riding on Bridgestones next year, the latest installment of this rubber-centric silly season is interesting to say the least.

European reports have it that Honda's Dani Pedrosa recently told HRC that the factory Hondas will need to roll on Bridgestones next year if they wish to keep him.

Pedrosa has reportedly threatened to leave Honda for the open slot to become John Hopkins' teammate on the factory Kawasaki team.

Honda has been known to not pay riders as much as other teams. He's trying to squeeze them for more I bet.

Honda knows they HAVE to sign him period because of Repsol. The Spanish are crazy like that. Remember, Telefonica Movistar was said to have pulled out of MotoGP because they expected to continue their sponsorship of Dani when he jumped to the big class. He signed with Repsol Honda, TM went to Formula One.

I don't think Repsol would pull out. Heck, they've already renewed their deal with Honda. But you can be sure they want Dani on their team to keep that Spanish connection.

Good bye, good riddence................ He hasn't exactly set the class on fire, so Repsol should stay anyhow. Why can't Honda support thier own team? Team Honda Honda for the win...........

That would be the kick in the Honda needs IMO. They were a little too confident about HRC designing a bike speciffically for Dani and that he would go right out clean up.

It's gotta be the engineers/designers off that a "big" rider like Nicky is doing better (lately) on that bike designed for the mighty midget.

Dani jumping ship would be a bit of a wakeup call for the HRC a-holes. Like they need one anyway...

Hehe.. Like Buck said, Dani hasn't exactly set the class on fire. Their arrogance was in letting the team of Rossi/Burgess get away.

I don't think HRC designs the bike just for Dani... I don't believe the rumors spreaded by English-speaking media about the Dani conspiracy... it is just too stupid to do that... besides, I read that HRC doesn't build a bike around 1 guy, not since Spencer or Gardner... I forgot

Well they CERTAINLY didn't build it around Hayden... looks like he's racing TMGP on that thing!
