Question verizon phones

i just bought a 8550 Chocolate for my daughter and was wondering is the only way to put music on the phone is by using the usb cable and syc the music or downloading? or can you just take the sd micro card out and put it into the adapter that came with it and drag and drop the mp3 files from the computer onto the SD card and re-install the card back into the phone?

on my nextel i was just able to drag and drop the mp3 files onto the SDcard and re-install it back into my phone and the music played. But for the chocolate, it won't work like that, at least nbot for me. i just don't know if the ONLY way it will work is by using the sync cord only

The user guide sayssssssss.....

1. Connect your phone to your PC (refer to the user guide that came with the optional USB cable)

2. Access My Music, then press 8 to begin synchronization

That takes so ****ing long it's not even funny,

I was using sd cards and a card reader on my computer, to drag and drop

or just use any usb conversion cable and transfer it that way, using PIP but that takes forever ...

I couldn't use the cable on mine. I bought an 2GB SD card and reader. Dropped them on the card and then inserted into the phone. I used the blue tooth on the phone to syn with a set of wireless headphones that also allowed answering of the phone if somebody called.
It expensive to set up, but the wife likes it.
