Check the trade-in value on KBB.com. Clean up the bike and take it to Eximports to let them look at it. If they make you a reasonable offer, then sell them the bike. Otherwise, try to sell it on Craiglist or Cycle Trader. The consignment deal with Motorcycles Unlimited is also a good option.

I sold a bike to Eximport several years ago and they made me a good offer.

Jesus you are slow. Seriously, go crack open a book and broaden that thick head of yours. It's seriously pointless arguing with you. I don't want you to hurt yourself though, I'd recommend starting out with "Green Eggs and Ham." Seems like something on your level of reading. Best of luck!

Thank you. Goodness, I don't understand why that is so hard to comprehend.

Answers to your original question and then some

Eximport's rep
I've not heard good stuff about them when it comes to buying /servicing bikes. When I was shopping they always ran higher than the local market prices.

Eximport additional
However this may mean they'll offer you a higher value on your bike. But chances are they would not give you an estimate over the phone because of all the various "conditions" (see below). They might give you and estimate range, however.

Pricing
Here's my experience from car sales. Dealerships rely on NADA wholesale or "blackbook" as Patrick said. For automobiles, these books/values are updated on a weekly basis and they have a range covering the "roughness" or condition (mileaage, wear and tear, etc.) of the bike. They keep these values pretty close and don't want consumers to know them. If you check nada.com you'll see they pretty much let you look up retail values only.

The NADA wholesale values are even specific to the region you're in. Since Houston has a longer riding season you'll find that prices run a little higher than the national average. Incidentally, Blue Book values are laughed at by the auto industry. I'm not sure who uses them.

Why trade in
This isn't applicable to you but I thought I'd include it. When you trade in a vehicle you will generally get the black book value for it so the dealer can make money when they resale it at retail. So yes, you can always get more money selling it on your own. What's the incentive for trading in? The trade in value is subtracted from the price of the vehicle and tax is figured on the lower amount. So this saves you $$ in that respect. Does it save you the difference that you gave up by trading in? Maybe not.

Best option
If you're not in a hurry consider the consignment option that Patrick offered or just sell it yourself. Be careful if you offer a test ride. You want to make sure the test rider will actually come back. I've heard of one technique where he gets a buddy to drive him there and this guy never gets out of the vehicle. As soon as the guy takes off on a test ride so does his buddy.

Good luck. Wish I had $$ and space for another bike.

Eximports will screw you whether you're buying or selling. Stay away from that place, they do NOT have your best interest in mind. Go to Motorcycles Unlimited, always fair and my choice every time.

There is no need to get all cranky... all I did was post up an idea. You can just take it or leave it. Personal attacks are the best way to show your maturity level.

I sold my 02 R6 to them last year for $4,800 when people on here were saying I wouldn't get over $4,400.

I had it on craigslist for $5,200, some dude called and asked what the lowest I would take was and I told him $4,800 (cause daycare was due in a couple days and I was about to leave for Europe for almost a month) and he then told me that he worked for ExImport. He came and picked it up within the hour.

We charge 8% of the sales price, and you only get charged if it sells.
We handle advertising, negotiations, financing, lien pay off if there is one, and title transfer.
Basically, we handle all aspects of the sale, we just call you and give you a check.
