Hey watch the Harris Cnty Toll Roads
This is a lil bit of what Harris Cnty Toll Road Authority is doing to knock out alot of the toll violaters, even though we all know the cops are slow we are fast, but thats besides the point but yeah read this thread i pulled from their site.
New Camera Faster Than EZ Tag Scofflaw
Houston Chronicle (10/15/05) P. B3; Guzman, Monica
The Harris County, Texas Toll Road Authority is testing toll lane cameras with the technology to catch EZ tag violators red-handed and alert police in a matter of seconds. Like the current cameras, the new system will have the ability to extract license plate numbers from the photographs taken of EZ Tag violators as they pass through a toll plaza or entry and exit ramps. However, the existing system only sends information from every EZ Tag violation to a centralized database that officials monitor for frequent abusers. The new cameras will be able to immediately compare the license plate number against a list of the 200 most prolific violators in Harris County. If the system detects a match, it automatically alerts police to the identity and location of the vehicle, giving them the chance to pull the driver over within a matter of moments. The system is currently being tested on the EZ Tag lane connecting Texas 249 and the westbound lanes of the Sam Houston Tollway, and Toll Road Authority officials say it is only a matter of time before the cameras are deployed on all toll lanes throughout the county. On Oct. 12, the system nabbed its first violator: Antonio Chamorro, the 25th most frequent toll violator in the county, after the camera spotted his SUV speeding through the EZ Tag lane illegally. Chamorro owes the county $1,383.50 in due tolls, $6,078 in administrative fees, and $8,925 in court costs, according to Toll Road Authority officials.
