I think you will learn more on the 100 than you would on the 50. I am trying to fix mine up too. Missing spokes on the rear and need a new/used gas tank this on leaks.

wheres it leakin on the tank? pull it off. pout in some dish soap and water let it sit for a day, drain it, soap/water another day drain it, then flush it again, and let the water sit for about 2 days and the residude and fumes should be out, and you could plastic weld it... just an idea

(my buddy uses the soap/water method in truck gas tanks when he sections them for bagged trucks, about a week of rinsing and what not)

Stay back you vulture, It needs some new gaskets and gasket on the carb.
On the xr100 I already melted some zip ties in the hole, but it didnt work but I will try it again.

Ya know, I thought it might be (the cable looked a little thin) but I really didn't inspect it too well. I just gave it a casual look over. It'll be fun when you get it up back together though!
