g35 speedo/tach malfunction

i dont know what happend to my 03 g35, but while i was driving to the gym today, the speedo just dropped down to zero, but the tach worked fine.

when i got out of the gym, everything was back to normal, until after i got out of the gas station. i filled up my car, turned the engine on, and the tach/speedo both stopped working, and my a/c is cutting in and out.

i have the warranty, so i'm covered, but what do you think caused it???

anyone hear of this happening to nissan/inifiniti's before???

Maybe it's sick and tired of being bragged about...

Seriously though, sounds like faulty electronics... same thing happened in my Frontier (kinda).

ahhh i see two of the same thread......

sounds like a relay problem. as long as you didn't drive through any water, warranty should cover it.

I felt good about selling mine last week, now I feel even better.

Sorry about your troubles.

I think I have an extra oil filter for the g35 if u want it.

If you can, get a scan tool and see if it's showing speed while going down the road, if so, more then likely it's a faulty guage cluster, or the needle on the shaft is actually loose(I see that a lot when people install aftermarket overlays, etc).

If the ECU is not getting a speed signal, then Id start looking around the trans area for the speed sensor, see if it's broken, loose, etc.
