Motorcyclist killed after wreck on I-595

A motorcyclist died earlier tonight after he crashed his bike and was later run over by a pickup, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers are trying to reach the man's family before releasing his name.

The motorcyclist was headed east on the highway, in the outside lane, when he somehow lost control and crashed just west of University Drive about 8:40 p.m., Troopers said. The motorcyclist's body landed partly in the outside lane, where a pickup driven by Randolph Oney, 41, of Clermont, ran over it, said Sgt. Mark Wysocky, FHP spokesman.

Troopers continue to investigate and did not immediately charge anyone in the death.

last summer I was riding with my face shield open MAYBE a half-inch or less and a damned honey bee somehow came right in and stung me on the right side of my face - I knew it was going to happen but couldn't get stopped and helmet open fast enough. Face was waaaaay swollen for three days.
